The Ibstone Horticultural Society Annual Show and Fete,
Saturday 6th August 2011

Held on Ibstone Common, HP14 3XT, the Show and Fete starts at 2:00pm and lasts until about 5:00pm, Bar and BBQ from 1pm. All sorts of activities are available for young and old. Admission and parking is free.

The Show itself is open to all. Classes cover vegetables, flowers, painting, photography, cakes, jams and preserves, wine making and beer brewing, handicraft together with 3 special sections of children's classes.

The Fete centres around a tea tent, BBQ and bar, with traditional entertainment including music, games and competitions such as welly wanging, cocanut shy, the stocks and bowling the bacon. Stalls vary from year to year, but a visit has to be made to the produce stall, the bric a brac and the book stall which are permanent attractions. Finally, there are several raffles and a Prize Draw which include a top prize of dinner for two at The Fat Duck, Bray. This always includes a number of very exciting prizes.

All proceeds raised at the show are distributed to local charities and other local causes.
